Campus Mentoring Programs
Women Mentoring Women: Run by Caltech's Center for Inclusion and Diversity, the Women Mentoring Women (WMW) has provided support for Caltech undergraduate and graduate women-identified individuals as they negotiate their academic, professional, and personal development. Alumni, faculty, postdoctoral fellows and staff serve as femtors/themtors to provide insights, counsel and support to enhance each student's experience at the Institute.
COMPASS Mentoring Program: Launched in 2020 through Caltech's Center for Inclusion and Diversity, this year-long, identity-first program matches undergraduate and graduate students with volunteer mentors/femtors/themtors within the Caltech community. Matches are based on shared interests, priorities and identities. Alumni, faculty, postdoctoral fellows and staff serve as mentors/femtors/themtors to provide insights, counsel and support to enhance the student experience at the Institute.
BBE Mentoring and Outreach Course: In consultation with, and with the approval of, a faculty advisor and the Caltech Center for Teaching, Learning, and Outreach, students may obtain credit for engaging in volunteer efforts to promote public understanding of science; to mentor and tutor young people and underserved populations; or to otherwise contribute to the diversity, equity, and inclusiveness of the scientific enterprise.
Caltech Alumni Association Mentorship Opportunities: The Alumni Association provides Techer-exclusive mentoring opportunities.
