Frida lives an hour away from campus and is a proud member of Venerable House. Despite being a computer science major, her first SURF experience was in biochemistry studying protein interactions with the nuclear pore complex in the Hoelz laboratory. Outside of academics, she enjoys listening to live music and crocheting. Her advice for students seeking a SURF is that "the research journey begins with finding the right laboratory. Reading about lab culture, ongoing projects, and even connecting with former interns can make the application process go a lot smoother".
