The Caltech Surface Processes Group seeks to understand the evolution of landscapes and sedimentary deposits on Earth and other planets through the mechanics of erosion, sediment transport and deposition.  Sedimentary and geomorphic processes that shape the surfaces of Earth, Mars and Titan. Current topics include waterfall erosion, sediment transport in steep mountain streams, river terrace formation, river mouth dynamics, and hyperpycnal flows.
