Speakers:
Morgan Cable: Dr. Morgan L. Cable is a Research Scientist in the Instrument Systems Implementation and Concepts Section at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California. She is also a Project Science Systems Engineer for the Cassini Mission, which has been exploring the Saturn system for over 10 years. Morgan's research focuses on organic and biomarker detection strategies, through both in situ and remote sensing techniques. She is currently working as a Collaborator on the Mapping Imaging Spectrometer for Europa (MISE), an instrument selected for NASA's next mission to Jupiter's icy moon Europa.
Tim Eifler: Dr. Tim Eifler received his master's in physics (2005) and PhD in astronomy (2009) from the University of Bonn, Germany. He subsequently held postdoc positions at Ohio State and Penn State before joining JPL as a Research Scientist in the Astrophysics Section in 2014. His research interests span a variety of topics in cosmology and astrophysics, in particular explaining the accelerated expansion of the Universe and the interplay of dark and luminous matter. He works on data from the Dark Energy Survey, and prepares for the analysis of future missions such as the space-based Wide-Field Infrared Survey Telescope, and the suborbital SuperPressure Balloon Imaging Telescope.
Benjamin Jorns: Dr. Benjamin Jorns received his doctorate in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University in 2012. He has been a member of the Electric Propulsion Group at JPL since 2013. He also holds an appointment as a lecturer at UCLA. Dr. Jorns' research interests include Hall thrusters, hollow cathodes, nonlinear plasma dynamics, and plasma wave theory.
