Speakers:

Oleg Pariser has been a Member of Technical Staff at Multimission Image Processing Laboratory (MIPL) at JPL since January 2000.  Among other tasks, he has been developing computer vision and image processing software and supporting surface operations for Mars Exploration Rovers (MER), Phoenix Lander (PHX) and Mars Science Laboratory (MSL).   Oleg's  current research interests are Virtual Reality(VR) and 3-D printing.  He holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Laura Jones joined JPL as a Guidance and Control Systems Engineer, where she has worked on a variety of projects, including a balloon-based telescope pointing demonstration, various CubeSats, and the Europa mission. She is also the co-manager of the SmallSat Dynamics Testbed and the PI on a technology development task that applies her graduate research to JPL mission interests. Dr. Laura L Jones graduated in 2012 from Cornell University with her Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering specializing in Dynamics and Controls.

Glenn Orton is a senior research scientist at JPL working primarily in the infrared, doing remote sensing of the atmospheres of the outer solar system to determine thermal structure and composition. In addition to acquiring ground-based observations through telescopes located at observatories across the globe he has been on spacecraft teams of various missions including Pioneer 10, 11, Galileo, Cassini and Juno as well as Hubble, Spitzer and Herschel. He has published over 170 papers in the peer-reviewed literature as a primary author or co-author. During his time at JPL he has mentored about 190 students in SURF and various other programs and currently represents JPL on Caltech's SURF Advisory Committee.  Dr. Orton completed his undergraduate work at Brown University in Physics with honors (1970), and a PhD at Caltech in planetary science (1975).
