2025 Gee Family SURF Poster Competition Finals

Join us for the Final Round of the Gee Family SURF Poster Competition on the San Pasqual Walk from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

The intent of the Gee Family SURF Poster Competition is to encourage and support excellence in effective scientific communication. Five Caltech undergraduate students who completed SURF projects this past summer compete for the distinction of having the best poster presentations!

This year's Gee Finalists, along with their mentors, are:

• Rishi Bhargava with Matt Thomson (Professor of Computational Biology; Investigator, Heritage Medical Research Institute) and Hao Wang (Graduate Student in Bioengineering)
• Ioana Caraus with André Hoelz (Mary and Charles Ferkel Professor Chemistry and Biochemistry; Investigator, Howard Hughes Medical Institute) and Chia-Yu Chien (Graduate Student in Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics)
• Neev Mangal with Mikhail Shapiro (Max Delbrück Professor of Chemical Engineering and Medical Engineering; Investigator, Howard Hughes Medical Institute) and Jee Won Yang (Graduate Student in Chemical Engineering)
• Sanvi Pal with Nishal Shah (Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Rice University), Joel Burdick (Richard L. and Dorothy M. Hayman Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering; Jet Propulsion Laboratory Research Scientist), and Siyuan Tao (Graduate Student in Bioengineering, Rice University)
• Madison Elle "Madi" Tongco with Ludmilla Aristilde (Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Northwestern University), Jared Leadbetter (Professor of Environmental Microbiology), and Xinyu Chen (Graduate Student in Environmental Science, Northwestern University)
