Yoyo is from Toronto, Canada (you can tell by the way she says "sorry"). She is a biology major with a chemistry minor, and loves teaching and mentoring students. She is currently doing research in the Gradinaru Lab, where she is studying Parkinson's disease along the brain-gut axis. Yoyo also loves playing on the tennis team, cheesecake baking, spending time with her cats, and leading community events at Caltech such as ACEing Autism–which works to connect Caltech volunteers with young children with autism spectrum disorder through tennis. She advises students interested in research to ask questions, show passion, and be open to learning new things and working collaboratively.
