Emily is a current junior and a member of Blacker House. She is a Chemistry option, and has completed one SURF at Caltech in Alex Sessions' lab studying mineralization under extreme conditions. During her second summer, she completed an internship at Eli Lilly nearby in Pasadena. Outside of the lab, Emily loves to go camping, hiking, and climbing. Her advice for students looking to do a SURF is to "start early" and "never underestimate the power of an email."
